Ken Loach es un joven airado al que le premian con un ‘oso berlinés’ por no dejar de rugir. Es un joven de muchos años con cara de niño y una mirada inocente que se vuelve insolente cuando nos muestra el desguace de nuestro mundo. Ken Loach mira de frente, le basta con poco para echarnos verdades como puños, no necesita actores de renombre, ni iluminación de campanillas, no necesita nada más que una historia, un hecho para poner en movimiento la realidad delante de su cámara, no importan los contraluces, ni que a veces se vea la jirafa.

Él sabe que nosotros entendemos. Como él, estamos mirando por el ojo de la cerradura y, cuando se hace eso, no siempre es bonito lo que encuentras.

Para nosotros, la primera bofetada en la cara fue con ‘La agenda oculta’. Si Loach se atrevía con el IRA, el conflicto y las cunetas del Ulster, aquí nos revolcábamos en el GAL, ETA y una violencia sorda, ciega y muda en Euskadi.
